Handraising feathered family members in Plymouth, MN
Hello! I’m Anna Kai, the aviculturist behind Kai Birds, a small home-based aviary in Plymouth, Minnesota.
Kai Birds was built around a simple belief: breeding birds should never stop being companions. My birds are beloved members of my family, sharing my home, routines, and everyday life. Their physical and emotional well-being always comes first — with space to fly, enrichment, good nutrition, human interaction, and lives that extend far beyond the nest box.
I raise each baby with the same philosophy: to nurture healthy, confident, well-socialized companions and thoughtfully place them with families prepared to love them for life.
My goal is to help shape a more humane approach to modern aviculture — one that begins with respect for the birds themselves.
